Ward Successes

For Fivehead we recently won a much needed grant towards car park lights for Fivehead Village Hall. One of my most cherished achievements was the official opening of the new Merryfield Hall in Ilton on 15 December. Ten years ago I was part of the action team that successfully campaigned to save Ilton First School (it is now thriving with new classrooms). The new village hall builds on the school success. When I asked one of our senior residents what he thought about the new hall he replied ‘bloody marvellous’. Working with so many local Ilton residents (some sadly no longer with us) as we pleaded with the Council for various grants especially the latest for the car park has been a pleasure.
In Hambridge I was able to help secure money towards disabled toilets at Hambridge Village Hall In Curry Mallet I helped secure a successful planning application for Affordable Housing at Lyndon’s Farm. The need having been highlighted in their recent Village Plan.

Thank you to the committee of Beercrocombe, Fivehead & Abbotts for kindly letting me use the photo's from  their websites.
